Imagitive was founded in 2009 to bring new technologies to life in an area that the two founders had explored during their computer science studies. Pathology and microscopy were the initial markets where the challenges were large enough to require innovative solutions and new ways to deal with images.
The demands of these two fields (pathology, radiology) require a completely new approach to how images are stored, transferred and displayed. This new way of thinking about images was turned into concepts and technologies which today are the basis for imagitive's current products. Imagitive was also an innovator in mobile radiology.
In the recent past, the focus of the company has shifted to more mainstream uses of images (such as social media). Mobile technologies allow the injection of high-performance algorithms at any phase - from image acquisition with built-in cameras until the final display of the image. Because we have, since our birth as a company, dealt with extremely large images, we can bring very powerful concepts and products to consumer oriented markets.
The idea for the DaVinci project is born. The mainstream imaging market - with an emphasis on mobile applications - is addressed.
The existing technology stack is ported and further optimized to support mobile architectures. imageFLOW.mobile is released to enable mobile imaging for radiologists.
The company focusses on imaging solutions for pathology and microscopy based on Windows and desktop computers. Initial cooperations with Hamamatsu and CSC are in place.
imagitive GmbH is founded as a company that is run avocationally.
